Tax Credit for First Time Home Buyers Could Be Extended

The deadline for the current $8000 credit for First Time Homebuyers is looming on Nov. 30th. There is talk of this deadline being extended for another 6 to 12 months if the federal deficit doesn't get in the way.

So, if you missed the Cash for Clunkers program, you still have an opportunity for getting money back  and helping the environment if you purchase appliances with the Energy Star Label.

The government has put aside $300 Million for states to use for rebates on purchases of energy efficient appliances. Allotments of money are based on a state's population.

The program is not fully operative yet and will be run at the state level so stay tuned for more details.
