So, what a year it has been! Looking back, I become exhausted -- not sure if it is from all the fall out from our economic crisis, or the long, long election campaign ending with the election of Barack Obama as our next President!

November stats provided by the Florida Association of Realtors show 507 homes sold, a 26% increase from last year at this time. Prices continue to drop, which will only help to increase current home sales. Sales have continued to increase each month since last July. Many of the homes sold are distressed or foreclosed sales.

Florida is moving closer to determing what types of renewable energy will be utilized in this state.
A huge step forward was made in the conversation between consumer advocates, renewable energy industry officials, and environmentalists, who are helping the Public Utilities Commission to create their proposal to the state legislators on renewable energy for Florida, due by the end of January.

Florida's Insurance Commisioner, Kevin McCarty, won one of four elected seats on the National Association of Insurance Commisioners recently. Perhaps living in Florida gives a unique and expert opinion on insuring homes with our hurricane season.
This committee often weighs in on national public policy relating to insurance and creating a national natural catastrophe fund.
